Koehler Renewable Energy Acquires Pitnacree Hydropower Station In Scotland

Wedoany.com Report-Dec 05, Koehler Renewable Energy has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with the acquisition of the Pitnacree hydropower plant in Scotland through its UK subsidiary. The acquisition was completed on November 1, 2024.

The Pitnacree Power plant is located on the Pitnacree Estate near Pitlochry and has been in operation since December 2015. The plant has an installed capacity of 300kW, an operating efficiency of 82% and a maximum flow rate of 236 litres per second. The plant plays a key role in the region's renewable energy infrastructure.

Commenting on the acquisition, Alan Mathewson, Director of Koehler Renewable Energy UK, said: "With the acquisition of Pitnacree Hydro power Station, we will continue our growth momentum in the renewable energy sector. This acquisition not only expands our portfolio in Scotland, but is clearly in line with our aim of making an important contribution to a sustainable and carbon-neutral future."
