Wedoany.com Report on Mar 13th, DS Smith has partnered with Elvial to introduce a fiber-based Fanfold packaging solution for Greek industrial customers, designed to protect heavy aluminum products during transport. This packaging solution is customized to meet Elvial's production and supply chain needs, providing effective protection for aluminum materials, which are widely used in areas such as doors and windows, lighting, automotive, and medical equipment.

The Fanfold packaging features an accordion-like structure that can be folded and adjusted in size, offering robust and versatile protection for international shipping. It is made from a single sheet of fiber-based corrugated cardboard, replacing the multiple layers of paper previously used by Elvial, thereby reducing material waste, preparation time, assembly time, and costs. This design enhances operational efficiency, occupies less space, and provides natural cushioning.

DS Smith states that Fanfold can dynamically adapt to product dimensions, integrates seamlessly without modifying the customer's existing processes, and is easy to recycle. The company also recently collaborated with Raymarine to provide a fiber-based, single-use plastic alternative packaging for their radar product line, ensuring protection against vibration and shock during transport. In related news, Emballageteknik assisted Stora Enso in using wood-based Papira foam to transport Thorlabs Sweden's sensitive equipment, combining renewable design with impact protection.
