Wedoany.com Report, On March 16th, Baidu Intelligent Cloud released five major Skills, including Xiaodu Skills, further enriching its AI agent ecosystem. According to Baidu, the newly launched Xiaodu Skills represent China's first AI butler Skills designed for home scenarios, marking the official entry of the OpenClaw ecosystem into the home Internet of Things (IoT) field.

The core function of Xiaodu Skills is to achieve unified control over Xiaodu devices and ecosystem hardware. Through this Skills, users can connect OpenClaw with the Xiaodu ecosystem, enabling scene linkage and autonomous execution of home IoT tasks. Baidu stated that users only need to speak at home to invoke OpenClaw's capabilities via Xiaodu devices, completing various intelligent operations in home scenarios.

From a technical implementation perspective, Xiaodu Skills, as a functional plugin for the OpenClaw ecosystem, serves as a bridge connecting AI agents with physical devices. OpenClaw itself is an AI agent framework capable of "executing tasks" rather than merely "answering questions," while Xiaodu Skills provides it with a channel to access the Xiaodu smart ecosystem. After integration, users can use natural language commands to have OpenClaw autonomously control smart devices such as lights, air conditioners, and curtains in the home, or execute multi-step home scene linkages.

Among the five major Skills released, Xiaodu Skills has garnered significant attention due to its focus on home scenarios. Home IoT is considered one of the most imaginative application scenarios for AI agents. However, for a long time, there has been an experiential gap between voice assistants and device control. Xiaodu Skills aims to upgrade "understanding commands" to "completing commands" through OpenClaw's task execution capability, achieving a leap from voice interaction to physical execution.

Baidu Intelligent Cloud's strategic move also indicates that competition among domestic cloud vendors within the OpenClaw ecosystem is extending from the developer market to consumer-grade scenarios. With the launch of Xiaodu Skills, households with Xiaodu devices will have the opportunity to experience "speak-and-execute" AI butler services.
