en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Xunta de Galicia has approved the construction of a construction and demolition waste recycling and storage plant in San Cristovo de Cea, Ourense, for the production of recycled aggregates.

According to the Environmental Impact Report (IIA) issued by the Consellería de Medio Ambiente e Cambio Climático, the project is not expected to have a significant environmental impact, provided that the conditions set forth in the resolution and the evaluation document are met.

The procedure was carried out through a simplified environmental impact assessment, and no objections were raised during the public consultation period. Additionally, ten institutions were consulted, each submitting their respective reports and technical conditions.

The project, promoted by Almyex, S.L., is located in the San Cristovo de Cea industrial estate and aims to process non-hazardous waste from construction and demolition activities to ultimately produce recycled aggregates.

The facility will feature 2,000 square meters of impermeable ground for open-air operations, along with a prefabricated cabin of over 17 square meters to house offices and restrooms.

During the operational phase, the maximum instantaneous storage capacity is estimated at 1,260 tons, with an annual total processing capacity of up to 30,000 tons of waste.

The report also stipulates conditions related to atmospheric, water, and soil protection, waste management, and landscape integration to ensure the environmental viability of the project. This resolution does not exempt the project promoter from obtaining the necessary authorizations, permits, and licenses before commencement.
