en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gnomon Capital has acquired all business shares in the DC North data center, a facility known as "Croatia's Fort Knox," located in Varaždin as a high-security data center.

Law firm Schonherr stated that its client purchased 100% of the shares from cloud operator Cratis and manufacturing company Muraplast. Croatian court registry records show that Cratis and Muraplast withdrew from the company's membership on May 27, with Gnomon Capital becoming a member. DC North's share capital is €1,451,120 (approximately $1.7 million).
Cratis launched DC North in November 2023 in Varaždin, northern Croatia, at the time calling it the country's largest carrier-neutral data center. The facility has a capacity of 4MW and 21,500 square feet (approximately 2,000 square meters) of IT space, featuring six IT rooms, each equipped with 104 racks.
DC North is designed to withstand earthquakes of magnitude 9 on the Richter scale and adheres to the highest security standards. Located at the intersection of three redundant fiber optic routes (connecting Slovenia, Hungary, and Austria), it is Croatia's second most important data exchange node and the country's only certified data center outside of Zagreb.
At the data center's inauguration in 2023, Croatian President Zoran Milanović and other senior officials attended. Milanović stated that such services are crucial for national security, process control, finance, personal property, and bank accounts.
Croatia is gradually becoming a strategic hub for European digital infrastructure, leveraging its high-voltage grid capacity and strategic location between Western Europe and Balkan countries. Currently, Croatia has 17 data centers. Last month, U.S. investment group Pantheon Atlas announced plans to build a hyperscale AI data center and innovation park in Topusko, south of Zagreb, with an investment of up to €12 billion (approximately $14.1 billion).
Based in Liechtenstein, Gnomon Capital is a private equity firm focused on technology and fintech investments.
