Participants drove the armored versions through cornering emergency braking and off-road evaluations, with instructors from Germany and the Czech Republic providing guidance. BMW launched the current generation 7 Series and X5 Protection in 2023. The X5 offers VR6 ballistic protection, while the 7 Series achieves VR9 protection level, capable of withstanding sustained gunfire and explosions. The 7 Series is powered by a mild-hybrid 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing a maximum of 523 horsepower and a peak torque of 553 lb-ft (750 Nm), in addition to the electric i7 version based on the M70 xDrive.
