The agreements were reached during the SNEC 2026 photovoltaic exhibition held in Shanghai, China. As part of the project, HVR Solar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese solar equipment supplier Han's PV for the supply of production lines and equipment for the TOPCon cell factory.
HVR Solar Director Sagar Sachdev stated that the company's vision extends beyond manufacturing capabilities, as it is building a future-oriented ecosystem to strengthen India's position in the global solar value chain. He noted that the planned 1.2GW TOPCon solar cell factory in Amroha reflects the company's commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable industrial growth. This investment will not only increase domestic solar cell production but also create long-term value for customers, partners, and the local community.
Additionally, HVR Solar signed an agreement with industrial system supplier Gentech to supply chemical and gas utility systems required for cell manufacturing. Indygreen Technologies has been appointed as the technology enabler for the project, responsible for production line integration and deployment. HVR Solar stated that discussions were also held with other utility suppliers during the Shanghai event to establish a broader supply chain for the factory.
The production line plan comes as India expands its domestic solar manufacturing capacity by reducing reliance on imported components and strengthening local supply chains. HVR Solar said the Amroha factory is expected to create over 500 jobs in engineering, operations, and administrative functions once operational.
