en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) for the development of 450 MW/900 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the state through competitive bidding on a tariff basis. This tender is supported by the Phase IX Viability Gap Funding scheme, providing financial support of INR 1.8 million per MWh.

According to the tender guidelines, this standalone BESS will be supported under the Power System Development Fund support scheme and will be connected to 10 substations. The planned infrastructure will provide an aggregate evacuation capacity of approximately 800 MW. The project will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate model and will provide energy storage services to GUVNL on demand to support the state's distribution companies during peak and off-peak demand periods.
