This cooperation is a follow-up to an initiative by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of Indonesia, aimed at enhancing collaboration between Indonesia and Singapore in the digital economy and talent development. The initiative originated from a working visit by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs to Singapore in April 2026 and served as a catalyst for establishing a strategic partnership between TelU and NUS to boost Indonesia's human resource competitiveness in the digital economy era. NUS, ranked 8th in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, opens opportunities for Telkom University in areas including curriculum enhancement, faculty development, and applied research advancement.

He noted that digital transformation requires not only infrastructure and technology but also world-class talent and an innovation ecosystem. Seno believes that Telkom's role is not just as a digital service provider but as a coordinator linking academia, industry, government, and global partners, establishing a digital talent pipeline that supports the company's business needs through such collaborations.

Prof. Bernard C Y Tan, Senior Vice Provost at NUS, expressed his welcome for the partnership with Telkom University to jointly advance education, research, and innovation, stating that this partnership will unlock opportunities for knowledge exchange, talent development, and joint research.
