en.Wedoany.com Reported - Well-Safe Solutions has been awarded lead contractor status for the decommissioning project of Apache North Sea's Beryl field. This is the second contract awarded to Well-Safe Solutions this year by the oil and gas exploration and production company, following its previous role in decommissioning Apache's Forties field.

This additional contract brings the total scope of work to over 260 wells, making it one of the largest well decommissioning contracts ever awarded in the North Sea region. To support the project, Well-Safe Solutions has subcontracted platform drilling services and specialist technical solutions to Archer, which will provide well service solutions, wireline and coiled tubing services, and a compact workover rig. Additionally, Well-Safe Solutions has awarded a contract to NMC Energy for integration, commissioning, and topsides decommissioning services.
This collaborative approach will provide Apache with a fully integrated solution for the decommissioning of platform and subsea wells in both the Forties and Beryl fields. Project preparation is already underway, covering subsurface, well engineering, and project management scopes. Well operations are set to commence in the summer on the Beryl Bravo platform wells. Subsea well decommissioning operations are planned to begin in 2027, initiating a multi-year work program.
