Arteco Expands Into Data Centre Market With Direct-To-Chip Coolant Line

Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 30, Arteco, a joint venture between Chevron and TotalEnergies known for automotive cooling solutions, has entered the data centre sector with ZITREC EC, a new line of direct-to-chip liquid coolants designed for high-performance computing. The launch responds to the increasing shift from traditional air-cooling to liquid-based systems as data centre power demands grow.

Serge Lievens, Arteco’s technology manager, stated: “In this incredibly exciting era of AI and other technological advancements, we recognised a clear opportunity to combine our decades of cooling expertise with our relentless pursuit of innovation and sustainability, thereby empowering the digital infrastructure of tomorrow.” The ZITREC EC range is engineered to work with various metals and elastomers in data centre systems and is formulated to resist biofouling, a common issue in liquid cooling environments.

The ZITREC EC portfolio includes mono propylene glycol (MPG), mono ethylene glycol (MEG), and water-based coolants, all featuring organic additive technology (OAT) for improved corrosion protection and thermal stability. These fluids are tailored for cold plate-based cooling systems, which efficiently transfer heat from chips to liquid coolants. Some ZITREC EC variants meet or surpass the industry’s PG25 direct-to-chip cooling standards.

Beyond the product, Arteco emphasizes long-term customer partnerships, offering services such as fluid validation, periodic sampling, and predictive maintenance guidance. Alexandre Moireau, general manager of Arteco, said: “In the data centre space, we will continue to proactively co-create with our customers, delivering tailored cooling solutions that meet—and exceed—their most demanding requirements.”

Arteco also plans to introduce a bio-based MPG option to the ZITREC EC lineup, building on its existing recycled MPG formulations. This aligns with industry trends toward sustainable, lower-carbon practices in data centre operations. The company aims to support the evolving needs of digital infrastructure through innovative and environmentally conscious cooling solutions.
