US DC Blox Indianapolis Data Center Approved for $1.8-2 Billion Investment
en.Wedoany.com Reported - DC Blox's proposal to build a data center campus in Indianapolis, Indiana, has received local government approval, though the project's scale has been reduced from its original plans.
The campus is located at the Thunderbird Commerce Center at 305 Fintail Drive and received approval from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission on July 15.

Under the approved plan, the project has been scaled back from three initially planned buildings to two: a single-story, 70,000-square-foot (6,500-square-meter) building expected to be completed within two years, and a two-story, 250,000-square-foot (23,225-square-meter) building expected to be completed within five years. According to local media Ink Free News, DC Blox reduced the scale in response to opponents who were preparing to file a judicial review appeal. As of the report, a petition opposing the campus had collected over 2,180 signatures, and an appeal against the hearing examiner's recommendation had also been filed.
DC Blox stated that the data center will receive an investment of $1.8 billion to $2 billion. The company previously noted that the campus's peak power demand would be approximately 80 to 100 MW and committed to "paying for the infrastructure upgrades and energy production costs required for the project."
DC Blox is headquartered in the United States, with operations spanning Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Indiana, Tennessee, and Georgia, and has submarine cable landing stations in South Carolina and Florida. The company stated that its 23 facilities have a total capacity of 470 MW and a combined area of 2.78 million square feet (258,270 square meters).
