en.Wedoany.com Reported - In the second quarter of 2026, Claro Argentina, the largest mobile telecom operator in Argentina, saw its service revenue increase by 9.3% year-on-year, with mobile business as the main driver, accelerating from 9.6% in the previous quarter to 12%.

User structure showed divergence. Postpaid users added 154,000 net, indicating a preference for plans with higher benefits and more stable income. However, after cleaning up the prepaid customer base, this segment lost 1.5 million users. As a result, total mobile users decreased by 1.3 million net, ending the quarter at 26.4 million.

In the fixed broadband sector, 60,000 new access points were added, driving a net increase of 161,000 in fixed business (including fixed-line telephony, broadband, and pay TV) revenue-generating units (UGI). Total fixed business UGI reached 4.4 million, up 14.3% year-on-year. Despite the increase in connections, fixed business service revenue declined by 1.5% year-on-year, due to intense market competition and aggressive promotional activities.

In terms of financial performance, Claro Argentina's total revenue was 999.073 billion Argentine pesos (approximately $674 million), up 8.6% year-on-year. EBITDA grew by 22.2%, reflecting effective cost management and operational optimization. ARPU increased by 43% year-on-year to 8,827 Argentine pesos ($5.95), a key metric in an economic environment with persistent inflation and competition.
