América Móvil Central America and Caribbean Q2 Revenue $1.3 Billion, Adds 360,000 Users

en.Wedoany.com Reported - América Móvil's telecommunications subsidiaries in Central America and the Caribbean reported revenue and user growth in the second quarter, consistent with the region's economic recovery and rising demand for digital services.

During the quarter, these subsidiaries added a net 360,000 new users, of which 126,000 were postpaid subscribers. The total user base rose to 26.4 million, up 5.2% year-over-year. Postpaid segment expansion was notable, with a year-over-year increase of 9.1%.

In the fixed services segment, net additions of revenue-generating units (RGUs) reached 121,000, including 62,000 new broadband connections and 26,000 new pay-TV subscribers. The total RGU base grew to 8.6 million, up 6.9% year-over-year, reflecting sustained demand for fixed connectivity services, particularly amid digital adoption.

Total revenue from the region's subsidiaries reached $1.3 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year. Service revenue increased 7.9% year-over-year to $1.148 billion, with mobile service revenue growing 9.3%.

Fixed-line business also showed improvement, with service sales rising 5.3%, higher than the 2.9% recorded in the first quarter. Broadband revenue performed strongly, driven by a recovery in enterprise network revenue in the Dominican Republic.

Average revenue per user (ARPU) stood at $10, up 6.3% year-over-year, indicating increased user spending. The churn rate fell to 4.3%, down from 5.2% in the same period last year, suggesting improved customer retention.
