India's Mahindra July 2026 Truck and Bus Sales Rise 19% to 3,009 Units

(M&M) released its July 2026 truck and bus sales data, with a total of 3,009 units sold during the month, a 19% increase from 2,534 units in the same period of 2025. The figures cover both the Mahindra Truck and Bus Division (MTBD) and SML Mahindra Ltd.

Mahindra July truck and bus sales rise 19%

In the combined business, cargo vehicle sales reached 1,474 units, up 15% year-on-year, while bus sales totaled 1,535 units, an increase of 23%. In the first four months of the 2026-27 fiscal year, cumulative truck and bus sales reached 12,398 units, up 13% from the same period in the previous fiscal year.

By division, MTBD recorded total sales of 1,406 units in July, a 27% increase from 1,107 units in the same month last year. Both the cargo vehicle and bus segments grew by 27%, with cargo vehicle sales at 1,057 units and bus sales at 349 units. Year-to-date, MTBD cumulative sales stood at 5,357 units, up 16% year-on-year.

SML Mahindra Ltd. sold 1,603 units in July, up 12% from July 2025. Bus sales grew 21% to 1,186 units, while cargo vehicle sales declined 7% to 417 units. Despite the downturn in the cargo vehicle segment, SML's year-to-date sales still rose 11% to 7,041 units.

Regarding market prospects, Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman of SML and President of Mahindra's Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses, and Engineering Equipment businesses, stated that despite cost pressures, India's truck and bus industry continues to grow. He attributed this momentum to sustained infrastructure investment, growing freight demand, and an accelerated fleet replacement cycle, and believes these factors will continue to support industry growth.
