en.Wedoany.com Reported - Rostselmash is expanding its line of agricultural implement adapters, with a 9-meter stripper header currently in the testing phase. The new product is developed to meet the practical needs of agricultural workers for increased harvesting efficiency and reduced operating costs, while also supporting agronomic practices that benefit field conditions.

This header is suitable for a range of grain and seed crops, including wheat, barley, and rye. Unlike traditional headers that cut the entire plant, it separates and strips only the grain portion of the crop. The straw no longer enters the harvesting process, reducing the load on the combine harvester's threshing mechanism and lowering fuel consumption. The straw left in the field can act as a natural barrier for snow retention, promoting soil moisture accumulation—a feature most pronounced in steppe and arid regions, such as southern Russia, the Volga River basin, and southern Siberia.

The equipment has a working width of 9 meters and a harvesting speed of up to 12 km/h, compared to 6 to 9 km/h for conventional equipment. The rotor speed can be adjusted within a range of 410 to 830 rpm (at a combine PTO speed of 520 rpm), allowing the operating mode to be tailored to crop characteristics and field conditions.

During field operations, the header follows the ground contour via a spring frame, and the support wheels are equipped with elastic spring elements, both ensuring stable operation and harvesting quality. The hydraulic system in the cab allows adjustment of all process stages, and the harvesting speed is also controlled from there. This header is compatible with RSM 161 and TORUM combines, as well as with the upcoming pre-production batch of H820 combines.

Currently, this stripper header has passed bench testing and is undergoing field validation. Upon successful completion of the second phase, the company will decide whether to launch pilot production.
