en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 10, China's Hengyi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. announced plans to build a total annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of polyamide 6 (PA6) melt direct spinning project through Guangxi Hengyi New Materials Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Yizhijin New Materials Co., Ltd. The project is expected to have a total investment of RMB 4.87 billion, with construction funds to be covered by the company's own funds and self-raised funds.

The project will be built within the industrial parks of the two implementing entities, with a product portfolio including an annual output of 220,000 tons of fully drawn yarn (FDY) and 180,000 tons of draw textured yarn (DTY). Upon full completion, the combined production capacity of the two product categories will reach 400,000 tons per year, with a planned construction period of 18 months.

According to the project plan, the production lines will adopt Hengyi Petrochemical's self-developed PA6 melt direct spinning process, which shortens the process chain by simplifying traditional production procedures while reducing comprehensive energy consumption, material consumption, and water usage in the polymerization stage. The company stated that this process also reduces the project's land footprint and construction investment, with product indicators meeting the industry's premium-grade standards.

One of the project's implementing entities, Guangxi Hengyi New Materials, currently has an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of PA6 chips and has maintained high-load operation since 2026; Hangzhou Yizhijin New Materials was established in March 2026, with its business scope including the manufacturing of synthetic fibers, high-performance fibers, and composite materials. Both companies are wholly owned by Zhejiang Hengyi Petrochemical Co., Ltd.

The project has been reviewed and approved at the 38th meeting of Hengyi Petrochemical's 12th Board of Directors, with a voting result of 9 votes in favor, 0 against, and 0 abstentions, and does not require submission to the shareholders' meeting for deliberation. Prior to project implementation, approval or filing procedures such as project registration, energy efficiency assessment, and environmental impact evaluation must still be completed. The investment amount, construction content, and implementation schedule will be determined based on subsequent progress.
