Wedoany.com Report-Jun 8, NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) has achieved 80% construction completion across all its project sites, marking significant progress in its sustainable energy initiative. The development encompasses the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, a wind garden, a solar farm, and a transmission grid, all located in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.
NGHC announced that key equipment, including wind turbines, hydrogen storage vessels, electrolyzers, a cold box, and pipe racks, is now being delivered and installed. The project remains on track, with 4 gigawatts of solar and wind power generation expected to be completed by mid-2026. Following this, the electrolyzers will be commissioned, with the first green ammonia production anticipated in 2027.
The initiative, a joint venture between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM, aims to harness up to 4 gigawatts of renewable energy from solar and wind sources to produce up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen daily in the form of green ammonia by the end of 2026. This effort supports the development of sustainable energy solutions, contributing to global clean energy goals.
NGHC’s statement highlighted: “This development includes the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, wind garden, solar farm, and transmission grid.” The integrated approach ensures efficient production and delivery of green ammonia, positioning NEOM as a leader in renewable energy innovation. The project’s progress reflects a commitment to advancing sustainable technologies while meeting timelines for operational readiness.
