en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the first concrete pour for the Phase I face slab of the Baleh Hydropower Station dam, undertaken by PowerChina in Malaysia, was successfully completed, marking the full entry into the main panel construction phase for Southeast Asia's largest concrete-faced rockfill dam.

The Baleh Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower project currently under construction in Malaysia and a key clean energy benchmark project under Sarawak's "Renewable Energy Corridor." The dam features a designed height of 192 meters, a crest length of 1,159 meters, and a total fill volume of 23.41 million cubic meters. With a total installed capacity of 1,285 megawatts, the station will deliver stable clean electricity upon completion and operation, optimize Malaysia's regional energy structure, alleviate local power supply-demand pressures, support the green and low-carbon industrial transformation of Southeast Asia, and provide reliable backing for high-quality regional economic and social development.

The face slab construction is divided into three phases, with a total pouring area of 216,000 square meters and a total volume of 111,700 cubic meters, characterized by a tight schedule, high pouring intensity, and stringent seepage control standards. On-site management strictly adheres to standardized and refined practices, with rigorous control over the entire process of concrete delivery, spreading, vibration, surface finishing, and curing. The first pour has established a procedural demonstration benchmark, earning high praise from the owner, Sarawak Energy Berhad, and laying a solid foundation for subsequent large-scale continuous pouring.

Going forward, the project team will seize the favorable opportunity of successfully completing key milestones, continue to strengthen safety production and quality management responsibilities, coordinate subsequent construction tasks with high standards, and make every effort to ensure excellent and efficient project delivery, contributing to advancing the energy infrastructure development in Sarawak, Malaysia, to a new level.
