en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 27 local time, the roller-compacted concrete (RCC) placement for the main dam of the Kenya Mwache Multi-Purpose Dam Project, undertaken by PowerChina, was fully completed. The World Bank expert team, representatives from Kenya's Ministry of Water, and the project owner jointly witnessed the achievement of this major project milestone.

The RCC construction for the main dam commenced in March 2025 and concluded in August 2026, spanning 17 months. A total of 15 RCC placement lifts were completed, with the RCC placement volume reaching 611,300 cubic meters. The project team organized construction scientifically and strictly implemented quality control standards, ensuring the quality and efficiency of continuous RCC placement and successfully achieving this critical milestone.

The Kenya Mwache Multi-Purpose Dam Project is one of the flagship projects under the Kenyan government's "Vision 2030" development plan. Upon completion, it will supply 186,000 cubic meters of domestic water daily to Mombasa City and Kwale County, and meet the irrigation water demand for 2,000 hectares of surrounding farmland, effectively alleviating the region's long-standing water shortage and ensuring regional water security and food security. The project team will closely monitor the construction schedule, fully allocate resources, and make meticulous arrangements to ensure the project is completed on time with high quality.
