en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 20:08 on September 13, the boiler ignition and steam blowing of Unit 7 of the Huainan Luohe Power Plant Phase IV 2×1,000 MW ultra-supercritical double-reheat coal-fired power generation project, undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Construction Group, was successfully completed! Under the joint witness and inspection of the owner and the supervisor, the superheater passed the 93rd and 94th consecutive target plate tests, and the reheater passed the 98th and 99th consecutive target plate tests, marking that the installation and commissioning quality of the boiler and steam system of Unit 7 has withstood practical tests, and the unit has taken a key step toward the goals of full-set startup, 168-hour full-load trial operation, and commercial operation.

Since the first ignition succeeded on the first attempt on September 9, Unit 7 has undergone three stages of progressive blowing and strict target plate inspections. All indicators met design and regulatory standards, and the main water-steam flow path of the unit was successfully cleared.

Strictly Controlling Processes to Eliminate Hidden Hazards

Ignition and steam blowing is the most critical "gateway process" before the full-set startup of the unit. During welding and storage of the superheater, reheater, and steam pipelines of a newly built boiler, welding slag, oxide scale, and debris inevitably remain. If not thoroughly removed, hard impurities carried by high-speed steam will directly impact precision components such as steam turbine blades, endangering the long-term safe operation of the equipment. Steam blowing precisely uses high-temperature and high-pressure steam to gradually scour the inner walls of the system until the target plate tests pass, clearing the core obstacles for the safe startup of the unit.

This steam blowing adopted the heat-storage pressure-reduction intermittent blowing process and strictly followed the three-stage progressive requirements in an orderly manner: after the boiler was ignited and heated to raise temperature and pressure on September 9, the first stage completed rough blowing of the superheater and main steam system, focusing on removing large-particle impurities in the system; on September 11, it moved to the second stage, connecting the primary reheating system in series for deepened blowing; finally, it entered the third stage of full-system fine blowing, with formal target plate acceptance carried out simultaneously. After inspection, the target plate tests all passed consecutively and acceptance was achieved on the first attempt.

Lean Management and Control, Building Strength for the Critical Battle

In order to achieve first-class quality in ignition and steam blowing on the first attempt, the project team planned precisely and exercised lean management and control. In June, the project sounded the call for the labor competition of "unite hearts and minds, overcome difficulties," and the three major milestone goals of pre-furnace alkaline cleaning, air dynamic field test, and ignition and steam blowing were decomposed level by level; on July 1, the project department held a mobilization meeting of "fight for sixty days to ensure commissioning on schedule," setting task assignments and timetables, with the three major disciplines of civil construction, electrical and instrumentation, and thermal power tackling the checklist item by item; on August 9, pre-furnace alkaline cleaning was completed, thoroughly removing impurities from the water-steam system; on August 23, acid cleaning of the boiler proper was concluded, leaving core heating surfaces such as the economizer, water wall, and startup separator as clean as new; on August 28, auxiliary steam blowing cleared the "blood vessels" of the thermal system section by section; on August 29, the air dynamic field test was completed, the six major fans started smoothly, and the boiler's "respiratory system" was unobstructed... From alkaline cleaning to acid cleaning, from air dynamic testing to blowing, step by step and closely linked, the successful achievement of each milestone laid a solid foundation for the on-schedule attainment of the steam blowing milestone.

During ignition and steam blowing, the project department strictly implemented the daily shift handover meeting and commissioning meeting systems, reviewed the list of steam blowing defects and problems one by one, and assigned dedicated personnel for closed-loop defect elimination. All disciplines and construction teams carried out continuous 24-hour operations, simultaneously following up on the completion of remaining work and commissioning coordination during the steam blowing period, closely adhering to the major system adjustment milestones to promptly complete defect elimination work in all systems and areas on site, and making every effort to ensure the continuous and stable progress of the steam blowing process. In response to various problems exposed during the blowing process, a working mechanism of "leadership coordination, special task force advancement, daily review, and rigid assessment" was established to promote the dynamic clearing of problems; technical personnel monitored boiler expansion, support and hanger conditions, and operating parameters throughout the process, strictly controlling pipe wall thermal stress and blowing rhythm, and ensuring process quality through full-process refined management and control.

At the same time, the project department strictly implemented safety protection and logistical support for steam blowing, arranged dedicated personnel to inspect equipment operating status at regular intervals, focusing on verifying changes in steam blowing parameters and isolated warning areas, and dynamically investigated risks throughout the process; completed operation filing with the competent authorities in advance, posted resident notification letters to publicize operation hours and noise reduction measures, and actively responded to public concerns; implemented a 24-hour duty system led by project leaders to ensure the supply of night meals and breakfast for night-shift personnel; the Party member assault team charged ahead and took on key and difficult tasks, while young technical personnel practiced on duty throughout the process, tempering and growing through defect elimination and on-site management and control.

Seizing the Momentum and Forging Ahead Together

The successful completion of this ignition and steam blowing fully verified the installation and commissioning results of the boiler and the entire steam system of Unit 7, creating favorable conditions for the full-set startup of the unit. The smooth achievement of the steam blowing milestone is a phased result of the continuous efforts and coordinated assault of all project personnel. Next, the project team will seize the momentum, advance at full speed the preparatory work for the full-set startup of the unit, and steadily move toward the goal of high-quality commissioning on schedule.
