ANDRITZ High-Consistency Refining Systems Commissioned at Two Gold Hongye Bases
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 15, Gold Hongye Paper Group commissioned one ANDRITZ PrimeRefine HC T high-consistency refining system at each of its Rudong base in Nantong, Jiangsu, and Xiaogan base in Hubei, for tissue pulp preparation. Both systems have completed startup, with the core objective of optimizing fiber raw material utilization efficiency while maintaining paper quality.

Each PrimeRefine HC T system consists of a screw press and a high-consistency refiner. Compared with conventional low-consistency refining, the high-consistency refining process reduces excessive fiber cutting and lowers the proportion of fines, enabling short fibers to participate more fully in forming sheet strength, thereby optimizing the ratio of long to short fibers without significantly affecting key tissue indicators such as strength and softness.
The system can process a variety of fiber raw materials, including hardwood pulp, bamboo pulp, bagasse pulp, and reed pulp. ANDRITZ discloses that more than 50 PrimeRefine HC T systems are currently in operation or in the project implementation stage worldwide, with their main value lying in reducing long-fiber raw material consumption and improving the utilization efficiency of short fibers in tissue production.
Founded in 1996, Gold Hongye Paper is the tissue business platform under APP China. It currently operates 12 production bases in China and has established an integrated forest-pulp-paper manufacturing system. The simultaneous commissioning of high-consistency refining systems at the Rudong and Xiaogan bases further strengthens its equipment upgrading and raw material optimization capabilities in the pulp preparation stage.
From the perspective of the equipment chain, the high-consistency refining system is located at the front end of tissue production and has a direct impact on the stable operation of subsequent paper machines, fiber costs, and paper performance. With the implementation of these two systems, Gold Hongye's pulp preparation at the Rudong and Xiaogan bases will be further upgraded toward high efficiency, low fiber loss, and refined pulp blending.
