Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan and Feihe Advance Dairy Deep Processing Project
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the Governor of Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan, Zoir Mirzayev, held talks with representatives of China's Feihe Group. The two sides held consultations on a joint project for dairy production and deep processing, focusing on milk source production, dairy processing, modern capacity building, introduction of advanced technologies, and investment cooperation. This contact represents a further step forward following Uzbekistan's previous project discussions with Feihe on localized production of milk powder and other dairy products. In August, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan confirmed that Feihe had participated in negotiations on local dairy projects, with cooperation directions including the construction of production facilities for milk powder and other dairy products.

Tashkent Region is currently expanding investment in dairy cattle breeding and dairy processing. Data from the regional government show that in the first half of 2026, the local cattle herd exceeded 1 million head, milk production reached approximately 564,000 tons, and 252 livestock investment projects are being implemented, with total investment of approximately 2 trillion soum. Regional development priorities include building modern meat and dairy processing facilities, expanding high-quality dairy cattle breeding, strengthening feed security, and improving deep processing capacity for livestock products.
According to the directions discussed by both sides, the potential project involves not only milk powder production but also the construction of milk source bases, deep processing of dairy products, and supporting production facilities. Feihe has long adopted a coordinated layout model in China covering milk sources, pastures, dairy processing, and finished product manufacturing. Its existing projects already cover deep processing stages such as raw milk handling, evaporation and concentration, spray drying, whey protein, lactose, lactoferrin, and milk powder. In 2026, Feihe's dairy projects in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia in China continued to expand. Among them, Phase I of the Ar Horqin intelligent ecological industrial park has been put into operation, and the Ningxia intelligent dairy processing base is also advancing production of high-value-added products such as whey protein, casein, lactose, and cream.
If the Tashkent Region project subsequently enters the implementation stage, the engineering requirements will cover systems including raw milk receiving, separation and standardization, pasteurization, concentration, spray drying, aseptic packaging, cold-chain storage, and dairy quality testing. Supporting facilities for pasture milking, feeding, cooling, wastewater treatment, and utilities will also be needed. The project's specific investment amount, plant site, designed capacity, and implementation timetable are still at the consultation stage between the two sides, and the relevant Uzbek authorities and Feihe will continue to refine the project plan.
