en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 24, Boldyn Networks announced that it has been selected to design, build, and operate a private wireless network for Ontario International Airport in California, United States. The project will deploy a dedicated 4G/5G network across the airport's more than 1,700-acre operating area, using dedicated spectrum, a segmented network architecture, and an enterprise-grade control system. The first phase will primarily serve the airport's physical security and perimeter intrusion detection.

The Ontario International Airport Authority approved an information technology services and solutions agreement with Boldyn Network US IV in March of this year, with an amount not exceeding $425,000 for the first six-month trial and evaluation phase. The agreement has an initial term of five years and may be extended by five optional one-year periods, with a potential total contract value not exceeding $1,827,500. The procurement underwent prequalification, proposal evaluation, and on-site interviews, and Boldyn ultimately ranked first.

The new network will combine 4G/5G wireless access, on-site edge computing, and centralized private cloud management, and will connect to Boldyn's round-the-clock network operations center and security operations center. The airport plans to first use the network to enhance monitoring capabilities for runways and perimeter areas, and subsequently further expand advanced camera coverage to provide low-latency communications infrastructure for more airport operational systems.

Ontario International Airport currently handles more than 7 million passengers annually and also supports large-scale air cargo operations. The airport authority's construction of this private wireless network is mainly aimed at addressing public network coverage, interference control, and the reliability requirements of mission-critical communications in a large airport environment, enabling the airport to independently manage wireless resources and critical applications.

The project can subsequently continue to support video surveillance, IoT devices, airport automation, and other digital applications. Boldyn has not yet disclosed the number of base stations, the specific spectrum range, the network construction completion time, or the subsequent 5G capacity configuration.
