en.Wedoany.com Reported - U.S. fiber connectivity equipment company Clearfield has released the NOVA Velocity Panel high-density fiber distribution panel, targeting AI and hyperscale data center applications. The product occupies 2RU of rack space and supports up to 2304 fibers for splicing and management. It is primarily designed for top-of-rack and high-density fiber aggregation scenarios to address the rapid growth in fiber counts driven by GPU clusters and high-speed interconnects.

The NOVA Velocity Panel features a modular high-density design that enables centralized splicing, distribution, and management of large fiber-count cables within limited rack space. Traditional solutions typically require multiple panels when handling thousands of fibers, consuming more rack space and increasing installation complexity. The new product reduces the need to break out high-count cables and cross-panel patching by increasing fiber density per panel.

The system is primarily aimed at GPU clusters, switches, optical modules, and data center interconnect links within AI data centers. Clearfield states that as AI infrastructure continues to increase compute density per rack, data centers face growing demand for 400G, 800G, and higher-speed optical links. The number of fibers requiring management per room and per row of cabinets is rising in tandem, making high-density splicing and distribution an increasingly important constraint in deployment.

The NOVA Velocity Panel supports both pre-terminated and field-spliced applications and can be deployed with high-count backbone cables and data center cabling systems. Key design priorities include rapid installation, front-side access, and high-density port management to facilitate future expansion, maintenance, and optical path reconfiguration.

Clearfield's new product further expands its NOVA data center fiber infrastructure product line, which covers fiber management, distribution, connectivity, and high-density cabling. The company has not yet disclosed the specific sales price of the NOVA Velocity Panel, the number of initial customers, or the scale of data centers where it has been deployed.
