en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) announced that it has acquired GreenAmerica Biofuels Ord LLC from Pilot Travel Centers, with the transaction closing on October 9. The acquired assets include a 70-million-gallon-per-year ethanol plant located in Ord, Nebraska. Following the completion of the transaction, SIRE's two ethanol plants have a combined annual capacity of approximately 230 million gallons, an increase of about 43.8% compared to before the acquisition.

GreenAmerica Biofuels Ord LLC was formerly a subsidiary of Pilot Travel Centers and was responsible for operating the Ord ethanol production facility. The plant is located in the central Nebraska corn-producing region and primarily relies on local corn supplies for ethanol production. SIRE plans to retain the plant's existing employees and continue purchasing grain feedstock from local farmers, maintaining the facility's existing production and procurement operations.

SIRE's original production base is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and uses a dry milling process, with an annual ethanol capacity of approximately 160 million gallons, while also producing distillers grains, corn syrup, and corn oil. Through this acquisition, the company will have two corn feedstock procurement sources in different regions and will expand the sales scale of its ethanol, distillers grains, and corn oil businesses.

SIRE's existing product sales markets cover the continental United States, Mexico, and the Pacific Rim region. The company stated that after the completion of the acquisition, it will continue to operate the Ord plant and integrate the feedstock procurement and product sales operations of both plants.
