Wedoany.com Report-Dec.3, China officially launched its Pharmaceutical Price Registration Platform on 2 December 2025, offering global drug manufacturers both online and offline services for price registration and verification.

The platform provides an authoritative, standardised, and transparent mechanism for recording reference prices of medicines marketed in China. These registered prices are widely recognised internationally and serve as official documentation when Chinese pharmaceutical companies expand overseas or when international firms negotiate market access in China.

Enterprises can voluntarily submit price information through the system according to their own commercial strategies. Companies bear full responsibility for the accuracy of submitted data, while the platform operator conducts no review or adjustment of the price levels themselves. Upon successful registration, marketing authorisation holders receive multilingual price certificates that can be used as formal proof during international tenders, procurement processes, or regulatory filings.

Industry observers note that the initiative effectively addresses a longstanding challenge: the previous absence of publicly verifiable reference prices for many medicines sold in China. This often complicated overseas market entry for Chinese innovators and created barriers for foreign premium products seeking inclusion in Chinese reimbursement lists.

The platform is therefore expected to facilitate smoother global expansion for domestic pharmaceutical firms while simultaneously encouraging more innovative international medicines to enter the Chinese market.

In the initial phase, nine pharmaceutical companies successfully completed price registration. The group includes leading domestic manufacturers as well as multinational companies, among them the Swiss-based Roche.

The launch marks another step in China's ongoing efforts to align its pharmaceutical regulatory framework with international standards, enhancing price transparency and building greater confidence among global industry partners. Companies worldwide can now access a unified channel to register and obtain certified price information, supporting more efficient cross-border pharmaceutical trade and cooperation. The service is available immediately, with additional enterprises expected to join in the coming weeks.
