Wedoany.com Report-Dec.13, China's National Bureau of Statistics reported on Friday that the country's grain output for 2025 reached a record 714.88 million tonnes, marking a 1.2% increase compared to the previous year.
This achievement represents the second year in succession that production has surpassed 700 million tonnes. In the period before that, annual yields had consistently stayed above 650 million tonnes for nine straight years.
Cultivated area for grains saw a modest expansion of 0.1%, reaching 119.4 million hectares. At the same time, average productivity per hectare improved by 1.1% relative to 2024 figures.
Rice production rose by 0.7% to 209 million tonnes. Wheat output stood at 140.1 million tonnes, showing little change from the prior season.
Corn harvest set a new high at 301.2 million tonnes, reflecting a 2.1% growth over the 2024 amount.
These results highlight sustained progress in agricultural performance, supported by stable planting areas and enhanced yields across major crops.
