Saudi Arabia’s STC in Joint Venture With Humain to Advance Data Centre Buildout

Wedoany.com Report-Dec.19, Saudi Arabia's leading telecommunications operator, STC, announced on Thursday a joint venture with the kingdom's artificial intelligence firm Humain to develop and manage data centers.

The two entities have entered into a memorandum of understanding to create the venture, with Humain holding a 51% stake and STC retaining 49%.

The partnership supports Saudi Arabia's efforts to advance artificial intelligence capabilities and meet growing demand for computing resources, aligning with initiatives to broaden the economic base beyond oil.

Humain, supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has established multiple collaborations, including agreements with xAI and AirTrunk for data center developments within the country. The company is pursuing a total capacity target of approximately 6 gigawatts by 2034.

The new joint venture will focus on building infrastructure designed to handle operations requiring up to 1 gigawatt of power load, starting with an initial phase of up to 250 megawatts.
