Wedoany.com Report on Feb 15th, Recently, Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group") held a technological innovation conference in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. The meeting systematically summarized the company's sci-tech innovation achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and comprehensively deployed sci-tech innovation tasks for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, aiming to promote industrial upgrading and high-quality development. Guo Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group, Zeng Guanjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager, and other leaders attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Guo Quan put forward three requirements for the sci-tech innovation work during the 15th Five-Year Plan period: First, enhance political stance, closely integrate technological innovation with safeguarding national strategic resource security, aligning with the industrial development of the autonomous region, and achieving the group's goal of reaching one trillion yuan in scale. Second, overcome key technical challenges and break through industrial development bottlenecks through independent innovation, collaborative innovation, introduced innovation, and mass innovation. Third, strengthen Party leadership, optimize assessment and incentive mechanisms, foster an innovation culture, and build a support system to ensure the effective implementation of innovation goals.
In the work report, Zeng Guanjun pointed out that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group made breakthrough progress in technological innovation. Cumulative R&D investment reached 2.488 billion yuan, with intensity ranking among the top in the industry. Significant results were achieved in the construction of innovation platforms, realizing a zero breakthrough in national-level "Little Giant" enterprises specializing in specific sectors. Multiple key technological breakthroughs were made in areas such as mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, and mine intelligence. Talent team building, through the "Gathering Talents for Nonferrous" project, has created a dynamic scientific research team.
The work report also analyzed the shortcomings of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group in terms of the innovation system, talent reserve, and achievement transformation, and outlined the "135" sci-tech innovation development blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The core goal is to build an efficient sci-tech innovation system, focusing on three directions: improving the quality and efficiency of R&D investment, breakthroughs in deep processing technologies, and cultivating innovation entities. Five key tasks are to be completed, including cumulative sci-tech investment exceeding 5 billion yuan, adding more than 50 invention patents, achieving full coverage of high-tech enterprise status for all production enterprises, cultivating 1-2 national-level "Little Giant" enterprises, and introducing and cultivating 5-10 high-level innovative expert talents.
To ensure the achievement of these goals, the work report proposed seven key tasks: consolidating consensus on innovation and development, strengthening innovation investment, reinforcing the construction of the innovation system, accelerating breakthroughs in key technologies, leveraging the role of high-energy-level platforms, improving the efficiency of achievement transformation, and deepening the introduction and cultivation of sci-tech talents.
The conference featured a session for achievement display and demand release. Chief experts and representatives of key scientific research personnel from Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Group reported on the latest research achievements in areas such as systematic exploration of mineral resources, green and safe mining, and comprehensive resource utilization. They also announced 10 "unveiling the list and appointing the best" projects, covering non-blasting continuous mechanical mining technology, efficient utilization of low-grade resources, high-value utilization of smelting slag, and other contents. These projects are open to internal and external forces to solicit solutions for tackling frontline production technical challenges.
The conference also announced the appointment documents for chief experts and commended significant sci-tech achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, outstanding talents selected for the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region's key talent programs, and the company's outstanding sci-tech workers.
