We appreciate all that you do for us!! In 2009 Harris started a campaign “Show Us Your Harris”, asking for photos world wide of your machines and letting us know why you purchase Harris equipment. Congratulations to the following winners: (in no particular order) R. Fanelle’s Sons, Inc., Camden NJ Industrial Metal Services PTY, LTD., Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Northern Metal Recycling-St. Paul Division, St Paul MN Spectrum Metal Recycling, Houston, TX Silver Star Salvage, Moose Jaw, SK Canada DeMatteo Salvage, Babylon, NY Northeastern Pennsylvania Carton & Carrier (NEPA), Moosic PA Northeast Metal Traders, Inc., Philadelphia, PA Northern Metal Recycling owns 4 pieces of Harris equipment an 800 Shear from 1979, TG 2229, GS11E, and Centurion baler. “They just keep running year after year. We choose Harris for the quality” stated John Kolesar. The Harris Badger was purchased by Industrial Metal Services PTY LTD and labor costs went down over 30%, energy costs down 40%, crushing 5 tons of scrap metal per day. According to Jim Galaway, owner “The Harris Badger is the second model of its kind to be purchased in Australia without our Harris baler we would not be able to get through these tuff times”. In business for 95 years (WOW!) R. Fanelle’s Sons, Inc has a Harris S 501 Shear that was built in 1958- 51 years old! Thomas J Fanelle, owner says “one of the best features of Harris is its durability our shear has been fully operational since we purchased it. We chose Harris because of the company’s excellent reputation and availability of service and parts”. Cal Anderson with Silver Star has an HBL66-16 SE and the H562 DT baler/logger/shear, and he says “the best features on the machines are the hydraulic system, the on board computer and the material used on the strength of the machine. The HB66-16 makes the best bales and logs of any machine on the market, the H562 preload table is the option you cannot live without. My Harris representative had a huge impact on my decision, he always had time for questions and when I needed more information there was never a delay. The support techs were patient and there to help, you are not just a number with Harris, they do care.” Who purchased one of the oldest Harris two ram balers? DeMatteo Salvage! They purchased their Economy HRB 2M in 1974 – 35 years of Daily use. “What workmanship” says Carmine DeMatteo, President. “DeMatteo Salvage is family run operation celebrating its 85th year in recycling and solid waste and because of the Harris Economy HRB 2M performances we purchased the HRB Centurion. Harris is a big part of the DeMatteo Family”. NEPA purchased their first semi automatic closed door baler from BE Equipment (Harris Authorized Distributor) and turned to Harris and BE Equipment again when they had a plant expansion they purchased the Harris Wolverine two ram baler. The Wolverine made short order of the expanded waste stream. Best features on the Wolverine are the automatic tier, bale density and the automatic conveyor feed and of course their reliability. The mammoth HRB 1035 W BR BD 200T was sold to Northeast Metal Traders, Inc. In 2008 this is their second Harris machine. Their first was a 150HP Harris Gorilla in 1998 both sold by BE Equipment (Harris Authorized Distributor). The addition of the Harris Gorilla assisted Northeast Metal Traders in processing nearly One Million pounds of material a day Spectrum Metals from Houston, TX, owns 2 badgers, oldest one in operation since 1998, the other one was purchased in 2005. “We love the speed and tonnage we are able to process as well as the flexibility the badger has in processing all of our non –ferrous needs.
