The actual analysis of different materials, and how they will behave, in a hot runner system, becomes quite challenging when following the above mentioned principles. Tables of data showing heat propagation, thermal expansion of steel and plastic, are all referred to when designing the flow channels, the size, and degree of polishing, and the size of the gate orifice. From existing programs we are able to calculate pressure drops in different size and length of channels, in order to fill all cavities simultaneously, without creating high stress levels in the plastic material.
