From the point of view of construction this means a complete innovation which involves a much more complex series of designing and production problems. 1929 The first factory is built and expands progressively while the production is adapted to the specific requirements of the home market. 1936 Owing to the shortage of liquid fuels, special automatic burners are designed and produced to fire coal of low heat-content. 1945 The activity is gradually resumed after the 2nd World War. Production of heavy oil burners is taken up again for domestic and industrial heating considering the rising importance of this fuel in the home market. 1950 The beginning of the fifties sees the expansion of the works, which makes it possible to apply the burners to a wide range of thermal applications. 1962 The Riello Export Division is set up in order to better co-ordinate and develop the activity of the Company on foreign markets. The growth of burner sales on the European and Overseas markets confirms the success of the Company abroad. 1979 Introduction of the MECTRON: the electronic burners of the eighties. 1985 This year saw the completion of the Companys most ambitious design and development project. The successful introduction of a comprehensive range of high output oil and gas burners was made possible by Riellos deep understanding of combustion problems, together with their knowledge of modern production techniques. A new test facility, specifically designed for the evaluation of this new generation of burners, is opened at Angiari. 1988 Even sensitive to the needs of the market, Riello introduce the successor to their Mectron burner range. The RIELLO 40 family. 1990 Riellos close ties with her European customers is strengthened by the reorganisation of her Sister Companies in Germany, France, England, Belgium, Canada, USA and Japan. 1994 In January of this year the Riello Burner Division is set up to better follow the burner business in all its applications, from 10 kW up to 22 MW. 1996 Riello Burner Division set up its presence in China, opening a Representative Office in Beijing. 1997 Riello inaugurates the new assembling plant for residential burners in S. Pietro, Legnago. This was the first step of a bigger project that today sees all types of burners (residential, commercial and industrial) being manufactured in this plant, which has been enlarged from 7.400 square mt of year 1997 to 29.000 square mt of todays facility. 1998 To focus on the core business "the burners", Riello Burner Division introduces a new trade mark RIELLO BURNERS. 2002 The Combustion Research Centre in Angiari, opened in 1985, is enlarged up to a surface of 3.600 sq. m. (total area of 10.000 sq. m.), becoming one of the largest and most advanced testing facilities in Europe. It is now organized in four main departments: Residential burners development and testing, Customer appliance matching, Commercial and Industrial burners development and testing, Training Centre.

The production starts with 100 hydraulic systems per year 1971 Because of its exponential increase in sales, GMV transfers its operations to a modern plant in Pero (Milan). In a few years, the production increases from 600 to 5,000 hydraulic systems per year. 1972 This date is of particular significance for GMV. Thanks to the 2:1 roping, a new market sector � namely the passenger system � opens for hydraulics.
