The modularity of many of our systems gives users of our products the flexibility to customise and upgrade their existing systems to meet their experimental needs. The FLS980 Series of Fluorescence spectrometers enable measurement of Steady State, Lifetime, and Phosphorescence with integrated hardware and software built into a single system. Our LP920 Series Laser Flash Photolysis system is a fully automated solution designed to set the standards for technical performance in laser flash photolysis for fundamental research and routine laboratory applications. Users are able to reliably and accurately measure transient absorption both in spectral and kinetic mode. For simple Fluorescence Lifetime measurements we provide the LifeSpec II. This system is designed for use with high-repetition rate pulsed femtosecond, picosecond and supercontinuum lasers. We also supply a range of CO and CO2 Lasers (PL Series) that set the standards for high power, stable sources. Our FIR Series of optically pumped FIR (Terhahertz) lasers, when combines with our PL Series of CO2 lasers become a powerful tool for taking laser line measurement at high peak powers. The MTL-5 is a new edition to our range. MTL-5 is a compact, user-friendly, bench-top TEA (Transverse Excited Atmospheric Pressure) pumped CO2 Laser. The MTL-5 features self-diagnostic testing and built-in, fail-safe mechanisms designed to support system integrity. We don’t just stop there. This was completed in September 2006. Many of you will have visited the former ELGA site in the same village of Lane End, situated between London and Oxford, (UK) which has been “home” to ELGA for the past 52 years. But with ELGA products now being manufactured and despatched from this Centre around the world to 82 different countries the old site had become too congested and has been sold for redevelopment. The new ELGA campus is impressive and incorporates all of ELGA’s centralised global activities now associated with our status as a major global provider: Global Manufacture: A 40% expansion in production capacity and the construction of clean room areas for Quality Control Testing (see illustration). Some other facts regarding ELGA manufacture: ISO since 1994 and ISO 14001 in 2008 ETL registered and UL compliant for USA FDA registration BS6001 goods inwards control fully traceable batch control ‘built in quality’ with ‘two-way supplier understanding’ established stable employee base with a skilled pool of local qualified technicians and scientists. Global Warehouse & Logistics: A centralised, spacious, and accessible warehousing operation with an efficient flow-pattern made through automation and mechanical handling conveyors. Some other facts regarding ELGA warehousing, packing and despatch: Instruments are stored in a controlled temperature (18degC - 30degC) environment ELGA uses ethafoam packing material, which provides ‘block and brace’ elasticity, and cradled in tri-walled outer cardboard for packaging ELGA cartons contain high shock resistant ‘voidfill’ which are reconstructed paper pillows that avoids the difficulty of disposing of and clearing up of polystyrene beads environmental note: all incoming cardboard (over 50 tons) from suppliers is recycled all despatches are “serialised” (bar coding in 2007) ELGA is certified as an “authorised airfreight shipper” with good proximity and access (via motorway from Lane End 30 minutes) to London Heathrow Airport . Research and Development: Six individual research and test laboratories, fully equipped with state-of-art instrumentation, dedicated to helping with the advancement of our ultra-pure water technologies Ultra-trace Analysis Lab: HPLC, AA, Ion hromatography, TOC Life sciences Lab: bacteria: endotoxin, Dnase, Protease research and evaluation of sanitization efficiencies Microscopy Lab: Chemistry process Lab: research and evaluation of alternative and competitive product processes Electronics Lab: hardware and software design and process simulation Accelerated Test Facility: component failure mode analysis Sales and Marketing Support: The new ELGA campus has enabled the Sales Support team to be enlarged to provide faster support to clients via its local ELGA sales teams and Distributors throughout the world.
