From 1919 to 1922 they produced a range of popular scooters under the brand names of Autoglider. The scooters were succesfully sold through agents in the USA, Holland and South Africa. Unfortunately, a strike by the tyre suppliers brought production of these vehicles to an end. In late 1954 an application, which had previously been solved by the use of inverted castors, called for instantaneous change of direction. The use of castors (which recognise a trail) meant that the wheels had to align before directional change could be achieved. The heavy load carrying capacity of the castor had to be combined with these new movement requirements, hence the OMNITRACK and AUTOTRACK range of Ball Transfer Units was invented and patented. This range is, to date, unsurpassed and is still in production and available in the same configuration and format today. Omnitrack units are designed and assembled by the same family that patented the units in 1954.
