Megger products help you install, improve efficiency, reduce cost and extend the life of your or your customers’ electrical assets. Established in the late 1800s, the company has been designing and making test and measurement instruments that perform electrical measurements for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning for decades. Megger products have supported customers all over the world to improve their facilities’ efficiency, reduce costs, extend the life of apparatus and through trending and analysis, anticipate equipment failure and future performance. It now has local offices in many locations with field sales teams and distributors all over the world. Manufacturing plants are located in the UK, Sweden and USA. Working with customers Megger believes that by working closely with customers it can deliver the best customer solutions and after-sales service today, and in the future. Megger is committed to anticipating client needs by listening to customers and industry specialists while continually investing in innovative research and development, design engineering and manufacturing techniques. Megger brand All our products are sold with a single brand name, Megger. The advantages to you are that you know the products and software will work well together, and all the products have a similar yet distinctive look and feel with their dark and light grey casings. We dont waste colour on trying to make our test instruments pretty – we reserve it for useful functions such as range selectors and displays. Our design engineers come from many different nations, and they regularly exchange ideas and tips with colleagues from other countries. That means you get the latest innovations, one of the reasons that Megger products are so advanced. How the greatest brands in test and measurement came together Our systems are geared to keeping things local – localised engineering, localised marketing, localised decision-making. Our employees are proud of the companies and brands that go to make our company history and many of these names are still trademarks or registered trademarks of the company in many countries. AVO Named as an acronym for Amps, Volts and Ohms, AVO is best known for its iconic AVOmeter multimeter. AVO merged with Megger in the 1960s when both firms relocated from London to the Dover, England manufacturing site. AVO lives on as our training business, operating from Megger sites around the world. Biddle James Biddle was an importer of Megger insulation testers and later started manufacturing high voltage test instruments. Based in the beautiful National Park of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, the high voltage tradition continues as Megger’s lead site for cable fault location equipment and transformer test equipment. Megger Manufacturing insulation testers is where Megger started, and the Megger brand name is so well known today that some maintenance professionals incorrectly use it as a verb when they refer to doing an insulation test. The Dover, England site manufactures hand-held test equipment as well as larger insulation testers, oil test equipment and low resistance ohmmeters. MeggerNetworks Formed as a business unit within Megger, MeggerNetworks focuses specifically on helping customers in the Datacom and Telecom industries. Test equipment from the new unit are supported by design engineers and a technical support group in the UK and USA. Multi-Amp Based in Dallas, Texas, the former Multi-Amp facility concentrates on relay test and circuit breaker test equipment for the world’s power industries. Started in the 1960s, Multi-Amp later merged with Biddle and then Megger to form the nucleus of today’s company. Pax Seeing an opportunity to create a transformer test business based around sweep frequency response analysis, engineers at Programma left to create a new business called Pax Diagnostics. Megger saw an opportunity to share the Pax innovations with more customers through Megger’s distribution network, acquired the company in 2008 and rebranded the products to Megger. Research and engineering for the product range continues at Täby, Sweden. PowerDB There was a demand for software to provide data management for acceptance and maintenance testing jobs, which was filled by PowerDB. Located at College Station, Texas – famous for its engineering school – software engineers created a database tool specifically for customers with asset management problems. Since its acquisition by Megger, it operates as a software division and continues to develop and support PowerDB. Programma Proudly Swedish, Programma Electric AB was founded in 1976 and quickly became a world renowned supplier of test equipment and high voltage circuit breakers stationery batteries as well as portable high current applications. Headquartered in Täby, Sweden, the company was acquired by Megger in 2005. The business has grown in revenues and staff since that time. STATES Since 1911, tes

Bachynski and started operations in early 1977 primarily as an R&D Company with a staff of eight people. The business plan for this venture won the 1977 Canada Enterprise Award for a start-up company. In 1985, a strategic plan was initiated to transform the Company in to a product-based operation where business activity would be primarily commercial and would compete in the international market. This approach required a very careful selection of niche market areas which built upon the Companys existing strengths. The result has been a select number of products whose performance equals or surpasses its competition world wide. The diversification eventually included works in Space, Fusion Technology, Electromagnetics, the Forest Industry, Robotics, and Lasers. MPB Technologies Inc. entered into the field of optical fiber telecommunications when it was approached by Teleglobe Canada to undertake a feasibility study on active undersea multiplexing switches for transatlantic telecommunications. This feasibility study led to a multi-million dollar contract award by the constortium of AT&T, British Telecom, Telefonica (Spain), France Telecom and Teleglobe Canada, for MPB to design, develop, and manufacture the Worlds First Undersea Branching Multiplexers (UBM) and associated Special Terminal Equipment (STME) for the Trans-Atlantic Telecommunications System (TAT-9). The system was put into commercial operation in early 1992. The development and supply of the undersea branching multiplexers (UBMs) for TAT-9 demonstrated the ability of MPB to design and build highly complex products for extreme environments and to unparalleled standards. The UBMs are the most complex products yet deployed in an undersea environment and were built to standards of less than one failure in 25 years. Unrepeatered Links & Optical Line Enhancement Equipment Following the completion of the UBM project, MPB selected the niche market of long unrepeaterd links as a follow on business to pursue. Extensive international marketing activities were undertaken and resulted in a number of major projects worldwide. MPB produces a series of Optical Link Enhancing transmission equipment for repeaterless systems - to extend the range of fiber optic systems without regeneration. The systems may extend beyond 500 km unrepeatered. The RMH Series of products includes low noise preamplifiers, high power amplifiers, boosters, narrow spectrum sources and transmitter modulators for "chirp-free" transmission, remotely pumped amplifiers, and patented Raman pump sources. MPB also supplies branching units for traffic diversity within a repeaterless submarine system as well as splice boxes used in the repair of broken undersea cables. Long unrepeatered links require the "ultimate" in equipment performance viz high launch power into the fiber, control of non-linearities in the fiber, ultra low noise preamplifiers, etc. As a result, MPB has evolved its technology development in concert with the requirements for these opportunities designing products with performance characteristics approaching the theoretical limit. These developments have permitted MPB to develop Optical Link Enhancement equipment of superior performance for the telecommunications market as well as Fiber Lasers and Fiber Amplifiers for the aerospace and industrial markets where power efficiency, reliability and compact size are fundamental requirements. Engineering Services & Support In addition, MPB provides engineering services in support of customer requirements. These services include optimization studies, network cost benefit analysis, system design, system engineering. MPB can provide an unbiased third party opinion on the "best" network solution. MPB also provides system testing, installation and commissioning, as well as user training in support of its product offerings. The Company reinvests approximately 20% of its sales each year into internal R&D.
