The patch panel established our Interface Connector product line, used in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), and as the computer industry evolved, so did Virginia Panel Corporation. Virginia Panel Corporation designs, manufactures and markets Interface Connector products for both commercial and military applications. Among its credits, VPC has developed the standard interface system for the United States Air Force Modular Automated Test Equipment Program (MATE). In 1987, General Electric selected VPC to design and develop the United States Navy standard electrical interface for the CASS Program. As a member of the ARINC 608A committee, VPC was instrumental in developing the standard for the Interface Connector Assembly (ICA) used in commercial air transport testing. Additionally, as the VXI standard developed, VPC was the first to offer the most comprehensive connector interface available for VXI. Successful affiliations with major government defense contractors attest to VPC’s ability to perform well under strictly regulated guidelines. This high standard of quality is found in our commercial-off-the-shelf interface systems. Connector Technology is facing new and ever-growing challenges. With the advent of smaller packaging, higher contact densities and high speed signals, connector companies are faced with new requirements every day. To meet these requirements, Virginia Panel Corporation is equipped with the latest technology for manufacturing interface systems. Our personnel are highly trained and motivated with one goal in mind – to provide the customer with the most advanced , high quality connector interface available in the market. VPC’s challenge for testing in the future will be a continued downsizing of hardware while maintaining connector flexibility and signal integrity, thus providing the quickest and easiest method of mass-terminating to electronic devices. All of VPC’s new products, as well as our current products, are designed to meet the challenges of tomorrow and beyond.

We provide vertically integrated products and solutions for multiple growing markets in the areas of stress measurement, industrial weighing, and manufacturing process control. We operated as a part of Vishay Intertechnology until July 6, 2010, when we were spun off as an independent, publicly traded company. Resistors are basic components used in all forms of electronic circuitry to adjust and regulate levels of voltage and current. They vary widely in precision and cost, and are manufactured from numerous materials and in many forms. Foil resistors are the most precise and stable type of resistors available. A strain gage is a special type of resistive sensor for measurement of weights and other types of mechanical stress. In the 1950’s, Dr. Felix Zandman was issued patents for his PhotoStress® coatings and instruments, used to reveal and measure the distribution of stresses in structures such as airplanes and cars under live load conditions. His research in this area led him to develop Bulk Metal® foil resistors and resistive current sensors with performance far beyond any other resistor available in the global market. In 1962, Dr. Zandman, with the financial help of the late Alfred P. Slaner, founded Vishay Intertechnology to develop and manufacture Bulk Metal® foil resistors. Concurrently, J.E. Starr started to produce foil resistance strain gages, which also became part of Vishay Intertechnology. In the last decade, our business has expanded from an initial focus on foil strain gages to include load cells/transducers—a combination of strain gages and the metallic structures to which they are bonded load cell modules that include electronic instrumentation and software for measuring the load cell output measurement instrumentation and complete systems for process control and on-board weighing. Our growth strategy largely focuses on vertical product integration, using our foil resistance strain gages in our load cell products and incorporating our load cells and electronic measurement instrumentation (containing foil resistors) and software into our modules and measurement systems. Current sensing foil resistor products are also part of certain control systems that we manufacture. Many of our acquisitions in recent years have been directed towards furthering our vertical integration strategy, and we expect to continue to focus our acquisition program in this direction.
