They were called Pierro. In the striving steel district of Sandviken they grew prosperous, purchased a manorial estate and changed their name: ÖSTLING. Their interest in technology remained unchanged. They developed machines to rationally harvest turf, reshape steel or produce nails, for example. This innovative thinking and the motivation of his ancestors shaped the company founder, Rolf Östling. He was born in the port city of Gävle in Sweden. Following his school leaving examinations and his industrial engineering studies, he had the idea of developing a marking system. In a tiny, dark basement, he began in 1968 to build a machine that was purchased by the Sandvik Company, the worlds largest carbide producer. Innovations such as corrosion-free electrolytes and template material with very long durability promoted further expansion. In 1978, he moved to Germany (Essen) and founded the company ÖSTLING Vertriebs GmbH. In 1979, the company headquarters was relocated to Solingen, where the cutlery industry has an international reputation and market potential is conglomerated. Due to the continuing expansion, primarily in export, a move was made again within Solingen in 1988, in order to satisfy the wish for development and space. The company was renamed to ÖSTLING Markiersysteme GmbH. The product portfolio in the field of electrolytics encompasses the manual marking stations and extends to semi and fully automatic marking systems. In 1989, the company developed its own pad printing machine and included it in the product portfolio. The needle embossing system followed in 1993, the inkjet and laser marking system in 1995, and the identification system in 1997. Parallel to this, the foreign sales locations in Switzerland, Singapore, France and the USA were established. At the German headquarters in Solingen, a modern development and production centre was set up to develop hardware and software, among other things. The Östling Group now offers marking systems for almost any product. Over the years our company has achieved something that money cannot buy: experience and expertise.

Today it is our challenge to develop and produce the necessary machines for this. Today Jäckle is one of Europes leading manufacturers of hand plasma cutting units. 1978 The foundation for this ambitious company was laid in 1978. Reinhard Jäckle set up his own repair and customer service business for welding technology. At the same time the production of the first own welding trans- formers began. 1981 The development and production of plasma cutting units became an important part of the business. The importance of the plasma cutting technology was recognized early. 1982 Jäckle is one of the first German manufacturers of small, economi- cally priced plasma cutting machines. Well-known welding com- panies also used the Jäckle expertise, and Jäckle took charge of the manufacturing and the further development of plasma cutting units for these companies. 1985 In order to offer the whole product range, the development and pro- duction of arc welding units was established. 1989 The old premises became too small. A production hall including offices was built on an area of about 5400 square metres at the present location in Bad Waldsee - Gaisbeuren. More space led to new possibilities: the MIG/MAG welding units were further developed. The result was a complete range of pro- ducts from 160 to 550 A. 1992 Just 3 years later the existing production hall had to be enlarged. An environmentally friendly powder coating plant could then be put into operation. 1996 The production and office area was again enlarged. At the same time a training and exhibition room was integrated. 1997 The first Jäckle TIG welding inverters were placed on the market. 1999 For a maximum utilization of the CNC-machine for sheet metal forming a complete CAD/CAM solution was established in the existing production of casings. In addition Jäckle invested in another powerful CNC–punching machine. 2001 The first Jäckle plasma cutting inverter was developed and mass- produced. The production planning and production control is now carried out using computerized support. The premises were again extended by another 5000 qm by the purchase of a hall. Logistic separation of component manufacturing, final assembly and sales was realized. The sons were appointed general managers. Thus the continuation of the family business is assured. 2003 The first training for traders in Bad Waldsee takes place. 2005/2006 The development and manufacturing of MIG-Pulse machines in Bad Waldsee is established. JÄCKLE participates again successfully in the 16. international trade fair Schweissen & Schneiden in Essen. Jäckle welding and cutting machines are entirely manufactured in Gaisbeuren. Therefore we can guarantee a constantly high quality today and in the future.

In 1979 the company changed its form and now became BMT MESSTECHNIK GMBH. The founder had worked on the field of automotive research (man-machine system research), and on the development of artificial hearts. The young company has developed and manufactured instruments, namely electronic devices, for heart and circulatory research. It has made the first successful control system for automatically adapting the pump action of a total, two-chambered, artificial heart to the needs of the circulation. In 1981 we have developed the ONKOMETER BMT 921, a membrane osmometer for measuring the colloid osmotic pressure of the human blood, or plasma, which received patents all over the world. The instrument is used namely in intensive care. In 1995 we introduced the successor, the ONKOMETER BMT 923, which is more and more used during open heart surgery. Another important branch of our little company had to do with strain gauges: We have made several types of DC bridge amplifiers for strain gauges and for strain gauge transducers which have been used in thousands of applications. In 1984 we started development of a UV photometer for measuring the concentration of technically generated ozone in air or in oxygen. In 1989 our OZONE ANALYZER BMT 961 in a small DIN enclosure was offered the market with very good success. In 1995 we offered the successor OZONE ANALYZER BMT 963 which is one of the most advanced instruments of its kind. Since 1999 we are started to sell our low concentration OZONE MONITOR BMT 930 for measuring ambient ozone concentration. Since 1996 our OZONE-IN-WATER SENSOR BMT 963 AQ for ozone in ultra-pure water is available. The instrument is used in the semiconductor industry for advanced ozone processes during manufacturing of integrated circuits. Already in 1993 we had started delivery of our OZONE ANALYZER BMT 590, the first ozone photometer commercially available which is operating with visible light, produced by an LED. The instrument has been developed namely for the application in medical ozone therapy devices. In 2002 the OZONE ANALYZER BMT 964 with Windows software has followed the model BMT 963. Instruments for ozone measurement are our most important products now. We have made several thousand ozone photometers. Since 1992 we are working on the development of small, air cooled, ozone generators. The OZONE GENERATORs BMT 802 and BMT 803 are used in many applications in which only a few grams of ozone per hour are needed. As far as we know, they are the first air cooled ozone generators which can produce an ozone concentration of more than 250 g/Nm3. We are also continuously working on the development of accessory instruments for ozone measurement. Our customers need not only sample gas filters and ozone catalysts. In off-gas applications of our ozone analysers e.g., removal of water vapor is necessary. So we developed our Peltier-cooled Sample Gas Dehumidifier DH3, a very simple device for removing water vapor from a sample gas without affecting the ozone. Although being a small company, BMT MESSTECHNIK GMBH has earned worldwide recognition and a reputation for building high quality instruments for ozone measurement and ozone generation, for scientific and industrial applications..
