The factory manufactured the materials of steam transfer for the railways. 1940 : The factory, destroyed by a fire, was rebuilt and continued its activity up to 1948. 1948 : By the experience acquired in the steam field, the activity was increased by the heating equipment intended to industrial and domestic sectors. The WESPER brand name was created for these new products. 1961 : The SMCP (Société de Mécanique et de Chaudronnerie de Pons) company acquired the existing facilities and continued to produce the same products under the name of WESPER. 1969 : The SMCP, become WESPER S.A., took over the productions of the CHANARD company. Wesper manufactured from that moment the ventilating and air conditioning equipment. 1981 : Wesper became WESPER CEMTA (Compagnie Européenne de Matériel Thermique et Aéraulique) and was a wholly owned subsidiary of the SAINT-GOBAIN-PONT-A-MOUSSON Group. 1987 : SnyderGeneral Corporation acquired WESPER. This private American company was specialised in manufacturing the HVAC, refrigeration and filtration products. 1994 : The Hong Leong Group Malaysia (mainly financial), through its division Hume Industries Berhad (OYL Industries Berhad), acquired SnyderGeneral Group. WESPER became then a subsidiary of the OYL Group. 1998 : Implementation of a quality assurance system and obtaining of the ISO 9002 certification in July, 1998. 1999 : In October 1999, the ACE Group, subsidiary of ECP Ltd (Electra Consumer Products), acquired the OYLs French subsidiary of which the name was changed back to WESPER S.A. 2004 : Obtaining of the ISO 9001 V 2000 certification. Wesper S.A. changed its legal form and took a S.A.S one. 2006 : In January 2006, WESPER S.A.S. was split into two entities. The sales and marketing activities were integrated into ACE Marketing S.A.S., subsidiary of ACE Group, whereas the industrial entity changed its corporate name and became ACE Pons Industrie S.A.S. The name Wesper was used by ACE Group as a brand name mainly for the sales of the air conditioning and refrigeration products. 2008 : In April 2008, ACE Pons Industrie S.A.S. took the name of WESPER INDUSTRIE FRANCE S.A.S. The company belongs to the new Airwell Group which is a member of the ELCO Holdings Ltd.

The company has expanded its activities into automotive, die and mould and sign industry. 1978 Due to the increasing volume of Aluminium machining in Automotive industry, BELIN decides to develop diamond tools and becomes first supplier of PCD tools for French Automotive industry. Its technological focuses are finishing mills and reamers. 1990 Oyonnax/France becomes the capital of plastic industry in France and BELIN strengthens its position as supplier of high-end solid carbide tools, especially for signmakers. 2001 BELIN becomes member of the German LMT Leitz Metalworking Technology group and is positioned as competence center for surface finishing and reaming applications. 2007 BELIN has grown to a headcount of 120 pers.
