Project Name: Bridge Bearing and Expansion Joint Replacement Works for Spans 1 to 5 of the Harrow Manorway Abbey Wood Flyover Project Location: A2041 Harrow Manorway Abbey Wood Flyover Estimated Contract Value: £1,450,000 Procurement Procedure: Open procedure, tender notice published on the UK Government's 'Find a Tender' service. Contract Scope Summary: This contract involves the removal and replacement of existing carriageway/footway expansion joints and 36 existing bridge bearings. Bearing Replacement: A total of 36 existing bridge bearings require removal and replacement. The 20 bearings in Span 4/5 have been designed by the Purchaser's Consultant; the Contractor is responsible for designing the remaining 16 bearings for Spans 1 to 4. Expansion Joint Replacement: Removal and replacement of existing carriageway/footway expansion joints. Concrete Repairs: Substantial concrete repair works are required in conjunction with the bearing replacements. Temporary Works: Substantial temporary works are required to facilitate bearing removal and replacement. Traffic Management Requirements: Main Roads: Works involve the A2041 Harrow Manorway and Felixstowe Road. Permit Requirements: Street Works Licences are required. Closure Arrangements: Licences must permit short-term full closure of the A2041 during jacking/lowering operations before and after bearing replacement, as well as lane closures for expansion joint replacement. Traffic Control: Felixstowe Road is expected to require partial lane occupation, with potential temporary traffic signals during concrete repairs and new bearing installation.
