Material Specifications and Item Information:

Electrical Connectors: Such as double-switch socket connectors, with metal cover and cover screws, special feature being flush-mounted with shutter, maximum contact current 16A, maximum rated voltage 250V, 3 contacts, suitable for 105mm x 105mm wall boxes, quantity 500.

Electrical Terminals: Such as PVC terminal strips, 12-way connection, quantity 150; and 2-way, 15-ampere terminal strips, quantity 150.

Cable Glands and Conduits: Such as compression-type cable glands, connecting THD and locknuts, suitable for cable outer diameters of 11-13mm, quantity 20; and various specifications of electrical conduit tubes, total quantity over 1000.

Lighting Equipment: Including various specifications of fluorescent lamps, metal halide lamps, luminaire accessories, etc., such as 16W fluorescent lamps, quantity 500; 400W metal halide lamps, quantity 500; and various fluorescent luminaires, total quantity over 1500.

Circuit Protection Devices: Such as various specifications of molded case circuit breakers, interrupting capacities ranging from 5kA to 63A, suitable for different voltage and pole requirements, total quantity over 200.

Plumbing Fittings: Including various specifications of cable ties, pipe joints, valves, etc., such as 153mm long electrical cable ties, quantity 200; and various pipe and valve fittings, total quantity over 500.

Other Electrical and Plumbing Spare Parts: Such as electrical contactors, switches, fuses, heaters, water pumps, etc. For specific specifications and quantities, please refer to the detailed list in the tender documents.

Bid Language: All bid documents must be submitted using the officially provided forms or as specified in the tender documents, and must not be retyped.

Tax Compliance Requirements: Bidders must ensure tax compliance and submit the unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) issued by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for government entities to verify the taxpayer's tax status and information. Bidders unable to provide a TCS PIN but registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) must provide their CSD number.

Evaluation Criteria:

Compliance: Including mandatory and other compulsory requirements.

Technical/Functional Requirements: Minimum threshold of 60%, including organizational experience, key personnel qualifications and experience, project approach and methodology.

Price: Accounts for 80 points, using the 80/20 preference point system.

Specific Goals: Accounts for 20 points, such as B-BBEE level, black female ownership percentage, etc.

Contract Terms:

Price and Payment: Prices stipulated in the contract may include price adjustment clauses. PRASA will make payment within 30 days of receiving a correct tax invoice.

Delivery and Documentation: The supplier is obligated to deliver the items on or before the date specified in the contract. Late delivery may incur penalties.

Ownership and Risk: Ownership and risk of the items transfer to PRASA upon acceptance by PRASA.

Warranty: The supplier warrants that the items meet PRASA's requirements and will remain free from defects for one year after acceptance (unless otherwise specified in the order).

Bidder Complaint Process: Bidders should address complaints related to this tender process to PRASA via the email address (mailto:SCM.Complaints@prasa.co.za).

Legal Compliance: The successful respondent must fully comply with all applicable national and local laws and regulations.

National Treasury's Central Supplier Database: Respondents are required to self-register on the National Treasury's Central Supplier Database (CSD). PRASA will ensure that only potential bidders listed on the CSD are invited to provide price quotations.

Information Protection: PRASA acknowledges that personal data of respondents may be obtained in response to this tender and undertakes to use the disclosed information solely for evaluation and subsequent award of business, in compliance with any applicable laws.

Contract Award: PRASA reserves the right to award the business to a bidder other than the highest-scoring one, provided there are objective criteria justifying the award to another respondent. If the preferred bidder fails to sign the contract within the stipulated time, PRASA will negotiate with the next highest-ranked bidders in sequence.
