Lotte Engineering & Construction announced on July 21 that its inter-floor noise insulation technology, co-developed with Anos, a specialist in floor impact sound buffering materials, has been officially recognized for its outstanding performance.

Floor impact noise is divided into two categories: heavy-weight impact noise caused by objects such as heels, basketballs, or hammers, and light-weight impact noise caused by falling light objects. Under current standards, when both heavy-weight and light-weight impact noise levels are below 37dB, inter-floor noise insulation performance is rated Grade 1.
The award-winning technology from Lotte E&C innovatively applies dust-prevention technology used in mechanical equipment to building floor structures. Specifically, metal coil springs used for dust sealing are incorporated into the floor buffering material to reduce impact and vibration.
Lotte E&C explained that the key significance of this technology lies in its ability to effectively reduce noise without increasing the standard apartment floor thickness of 320mm (210mm concrete slab + 110mm finish).
