In May 2026, the world's first CPGC-WinGD 6X62-1.1-HPSCR main engine was delivered at the Zhenjiang plant of Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, China. Manufactured by Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CSSC Power Group, the engine will be installed on a 4,350 TEU container ship being built by Nantong Yahua Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. for Shengsi Pusheng Shipping.

The CPGC-WinGD 6X62-1.1-HPSCR main engine belongs to the X62-1.1 series and features specific technical parameters: a cylinder bore of 620mm, a piston stroke of 2,658mm, a maximum firing pressure of 19.0MPa, a mean effective pressure of 2.05MPa, and a maximum power output of up to 2,900kW per cylinder. This engine series can meet marine power demands below 23,200kW. As a new generation product of the X62 engine, this model is compatible with a second-fuel readiness solution. Compared to the previous X62-B model, its retrofit capability has been enhanced, and the conversion process is more convenient. Equipped with a high-pressure selective catalytic reduction system, the engine can meet the International Maritime Organization's Tier III emission requirements.

This engine delivery provides the power core for the subsequent construction of the 4,350 TEU container ship. This vessel type has recently attracted attention in the international shipping market. According to industry reports from January 2026, global container shipping company Mediterranean Shipping Company had taken steps to acquire similar 4,350 TEU container ships being built by Nantong Yahua Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., with a deal already concluded for the first vessel.
