On July 20, as the yellow comprehensive inspection train smoothly reached the test target speed of 385 km/h on the Yichang-Xingshan High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the Yixing High-Speed Railway), it marked the successful completion of the train speed-up operation test on the Yixing High-Speed Railway.

According to the relevant department of China Railway Wuhan Group, for high-speed railway lines designed for a speed of 350 km/h, an "overspeed" test must be conducted at 110% of the operational speed during the integrated commissioning and testing. The yellow inspection train reaching a top speed of 385 km/h aims to verify the stability of systems such as track and power supply under extreme conditions, ensuring sufficient safety redundancy after the line opens.

The Yixing High-Speed Railway has a total length of 108.38 kilometers and a design speed of 350 km/h. It starts from Yichang East Station and ends at Xingshan Station, connecting to the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway. The train speed-up operation test was conducted on the Yangjiapeng to Xingshan section of the Yixing High-Speed Railway. The Yichang North to Yangjiapeng section had already been put into operation on December 26, 2025, together with the Wuhan to Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Rongjiang High-Speed Railway.

Once the entire line is operational, the travel time from Xingshan to Yichang will be reduced from 2 hours to about 20 minutes, and the travel time from Yichang to Chongqing is expected to be shortened to around 3 hours.
