Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the "Approval Reply on the First-Unit Demonstration Power Station Project of China Heavy Gas Turbine's Self-Developed 300MW-Class F-Class Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine" (Yue Fa Gai Approval〔2026〕No. 6).

The approval clarifies that, in order to promote the localization of China's self-developed heavy-duty gas turbines, foster a strong demonstration effect and industrial foundation, and ensure the power supply of Dongguan City, the construction of the first-unit demonstration power station project of SPIC China Heavy Gas Turbine's self-developed 300MW-class F-Class heavy-duty gas turbine has been officially approved. The project owner is Dongguan Thermal Power, a subsidiary of SPIC Guangdong Company. The project is located in Dongcheng Science and Technology Industrial Park, Dongcheng Street, Dongguan City, and plans to build one 453MW-class (9F-class) gas-steam combined cycle unit with supporting facilities. The core equipment adopts China's self-developed 300MW-class F-Class heavy-duty gas turbine. The total project investment is 932.72 million yuan, funded by the enterprise's self-raised capital and bank loans. The approval also sets forth clear regulatory requirements on project construction safety, environmental protection and energy conservation, risk prevention and control, bidding management, procedure handling, and construction commencement deadlines.
The 300MW-class F-Class heavy-duty gas turbine is the largest-capacity and highest-technology-grade gas turbine independently developed in China. It has completed prototype assembly and rollout, ignition, full-load testing, and reliability verification, with major technical indicators such as efficiency meeting design requirements, laying a solid foundation for industrial development.
