Since the first tunneling machine went offline in 2004, SANY Heavy Equipment has continuously promoted the overall technological improvement of the industry through technological innovation. Currently, SANY tunneling machines have three major series — coal tunneling machines, anchor-and-drill machines, and mining machines — with more than 100 models, achieving mature product coverage from 132kW to 630kW, and have always ranked first in the industry since 2009. In 2019, it successfully developed China's first anchor-and-drill machine, increasing efficiency by 20% and achieving rapid tunneling. In 2022, it launched the S series intelligent tunneling machine with functions of intelligent cutting, intelligent perception, intelligent security, and intelligent control, with operating efficiency equivalent to manual labor. In 2024, it launched intelligent tunneling complete equipment, realizing parallel operations of tunneling, anchoring, supporting, and transportation, increasing tunneling efficiency by 50%.
