The system uses both KROSSGRINDING® (plated diamond) tooling or TurboHone® (single- or multi-stone superabrasive) tooling. The KROSSGRINDING® plated diamond tooling is the choice when extreme accuracy and long tooling life is desired (tool wear is next to zero per cycle). For fast stock removal, Sunnens TurboHone® mandrels will get the job done. The KGM 5000 is also easy to set up and operate, even by unskilled operators. The machine features a menu-driven control system with a PC processor. As many as 100 separate setups can be entered and saved for future production runs of the same components. Computer control and adjustment of all machine settings ensures accuracy.
