The new tool enables rigs to handle flush or near flush tubular without manual intervention, including: WT-23/26/31 Hydril 511, 512 The BX-S provides reliable operation and is suitable for use with the FMS 275 Flush Mounted Slip. The BX-S elevator is a hydraulic operated double door elevator, which is equipped with replaceable slips to handle various styles and sizes of tubular. The elevator will close or open when the driller gives the command “close-elevator or open-elevator”. The driller has the option to set and raise the slips once the doors are closed. The BX-S elevator has vertically hydraulic loaded slips which will be pushed downwards automatically after the command from the driller. By detecting the return signal-pressure (XP-line) from the elevator it is determined that the elevator is properly closed and latched + the slips are set. Features: The BX-S is a hydraulically powered, remote controlled elevator which supports hands-off operation The BX-S comes equipped with an automated “slip set” function, or the slip down function can be operator controlled when using the optional BX Hook-up Kit. Simplified hydraulic system provides reliable operation. Slips can accommodate non-marking inserts for handling tubular with a high chrome content. Safety Features: Redundant “slip set” signals provide positive feedback to the driller that the elevators are set on the pipe. A negative latch lug angle helps prevent the elevator from opening while the pipe is suspended in the slips. Internal springs are incorporated into the BX design for raising the slips, which result in minimal “power-up” force
