Wedoany.com Report on Mar 6th, Persimmon Homes South West has received planning permission from East Devon District Council to build 92 energy-efficient homes near the town centre of Cranbrook. This energy-efficient housing project will be developed in phases, with full planning permission granted for 61 homes, while the remaining 31 require further detailed approval. Nearly one-third of the energy-efficient homes will be built in partnership with a housing association, aiming to help address the housing waiting list in the area.

The energy-efficient housing project will construct zero-carbon emission homes and implement biodiversity protection measures, including the installation of animal shelters and hedgehog highways. As part of its green and environmentally friendly concept, the project will also create new public open spaces and plant trees. The Cranbrook Plan, adopted by East Devon District Council in October 2022, calls for the town's development to accommodate approximately 20,000 people, promote low-carbon construction, and invest in key infrastructure, which aligns closely with the objectives of this energy-efficient homes project.

Dan Heathcote, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes South West, stated: "Persimmon is delighted to have received this latest planning permission, marking another significant step forward in East Devon's vision to establish Cranbrook as a thriving, sustainable new town." This energy-efficient homes project will provide energy-efficient housing in a well-connected area of the town, meeting the diverse housing needs of the local community. Persimmon recently sold out its previous phase at Galileo Outlet in Cranbrook and will continue to launch new homes at Ashworth Square, with prices starting from £239,995.
