en.Wedoany.com Reported - Insight Works has released Warehouse Insight v2.16, featuring improvements to assembly workflows, scanning performance, developer extensibility, and warehouse traceability for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This release aims to eliminate several friction points that previously constrained the productivity of operations teams and configuration personnel.

High-throughput scanning environments face latency during network fluctuations or device load surges. Version 2.16 introduces a "Store & Forward" option, which queues operations locally during high load or offline periods and synchronizes once conditions stabilize, thereby maintaining worker productivity. Navigation loading times between "Pick Lines" and "Place Lines" on warehouse pick lists have been reduced, enabling pickers to move without interruption. During Advanced Inventory Counts, license plates assigned to active counts no longer block scanning, eliminating a bottleneck that previously required manual intervention.

Version 2.16 brings significant depth to assembly workflows, integrating tracking, labeling, and consumption recording into a more refined device-side experience. Warehouse staff can now record item tracking details and print item labels directly from the assembly output workflow without leaving the device. Assembly consumption can be recorded independently of warehouse picks, consistent with how consumption is handled in other application areas of Business Central. Even when consumption is configured to require forced picking, the assembly output process executes correctly in locations where picking is not needed. Mixed item tracking configurations (e.g., tracking by batch at the warehouse level and by serial number at outbound) are fully supported, expanding the range of production scenarios Warehouse Insight can handle without customization.

The App Designer has added three new workflow control blocks. The "Set Line Value" block allows configurators to programmatically update line-level data within custom application workflows. The "Wait for Network Queue" block enables workflows to pause until pending network operations complete, supporting data integrity in connected processes. The "Wait" block introduces controlled delays for precise sequencing in multi-step workflows.

Other changes include: expanded expiration override variables, richer barcode and source data exposure through the item tracking page context, and inclusion of the License Plating Template Code in the scan page context. The "Inspect Context" block now displays full values regardless of length, eliminating a key limitation for developers debugging application states. Package numbers are now supported in additional routines, and receiving labels include package numbers to improve traceability at the receiving point. This release also fixes number formatting for the Dutch (Belgium) locale, resolves date display issues under Serbian (Latin), and provides expanded translations for non-English environments.

"This release reflects feedback from warehouse operators and the partner community, and builds on Warehouse Insight," said Brian Neufeld, Marketing Director at Insight Works. "The assembly workflow improvements close a series of gaps that have required workarounds in the field—friction that isn't obvious in daily operations until you're on the shop floor."
